Delays

Dear readers,

My apologies that I have not yet done the precis on the Constitution on the Divine Liturgy, but as we all know, work is the curse of the thinking class. Mine has interrupted, but at least once, in a pleasant way. A series of briefs that I have written, as a paralegal in a solo practitioner's office, has prevailed in large part against two major Los Angeles law firms, to prevent demurrer being granted against a complaint filed by some dozen or so of my employer's clients. Sometimes the little guy does prevail.

Constitution on the Liturgy

I have read through the whole of the Constitution on the Liturgy yesterday, and will be working on the precis and analysis most probably tomorrow. I am currently devoting my spare time to putting into musical notation the stichera, litiya, and aposticha for the Great Vespers of the Feast of the Ascension. It took me two hours to do the stichera before work, and one hour during lunch to do the litiya (or at least, the four stichera that will be used this evening). I am looking forward to having it all completed and sent to Gabriel Meyer, our choir director, before 6 p.m. I've already sent pdf files of the stichera and litiya via e-mail.

A beginning

I have decided to do a precis of Sacrosanctum Concilium, the Constitution on the Divine Liturgy of the Second Vatican Council, to see whether and to what extent the mandates of that Council have been fulfilled. It should be interesting.

A (little) Light from the East

This web journal is devoted to a study of Eastern and Western Christianity, from the view point of one Eastern Catholic Christian.
